It is not always easy to get your kids to brush their teeth, but if you want them to keep their pearly whites clean and healthy, it is something that you will have to work on. Here are some helpful tips on how to get your child to brush their teeth.
Tip #1: Keep It Fun
Brushing your teeth is never fun, but if you can make it more fun for your child then they are more likely to want to do it. Try making a game out of it.
Play the brushing game with them and see who can brush their teeth the fastest. Make sure that they do not cheat by brushing too fast or using toothpaste in the sink!
This will make them want to brush their teeth more often because they will want to beat their own record. You can also play a game where you ask them questions about how long they have been brushing for and if they are still brushing properly, or whether they have missed any spots on their teeth.
They will love answering these questions because they know that this is a way for them to get out of having to finish brushing.
Tip #2: Offer Rewards
If you want your child to brush their teeth, then you need to offer them a reward. A lot of children love rewards and will work hard to get them.
You can do this by offering them a prize for every time that they brush their teeth. This can be something small like a sticker or small toy, or it can be something bigger like an ice cream or new video game.
It is up to you what kind of reward you want to give them, but if they know that there is something in it for them then they will want to keep brushing their teeth.
Tip #3: Make It Fun
You can also make brushing your teeth fun by adding some silly songs into the mix. If you have not already heard about these silly songs, then you are going to love the idea of getting your kids to brush their teeth with these songs!
The songs that are going around are “Brush Brush Brush” and “Brush Your Teeth” which were created by people who thought it would be funny if kids started singing about brushing their teeth.
Tip #4: Keep Them in Sight
If you want your child to brush their teeth, then you need to make sure that they are always in sight. If they are able to see their toothbrush and toothpaste, then they will be more likely to brush their teeth because they will not want to walk past it every day without brushing.
This is why it is important that you keep the toothbrush and toothpaste in a place where your child can see them at all times. This could be on the sink or in the bathroom cabinet so that they can see them when they get up and go to the bathroom.
Tip #5: Get a Timer
Another good way of getting your kids to brush their teeth is by getting a timer. A lot of people like using these timers because it means that they can get everything done at once.
If you have a busy schedule, then this is a great way for you to make sure that your child brushes their teeth quickly and efficiently. There are some good timers out there, but if you cannot find one then there are some simple apps that you can download onto your phone or tablet which will do the same thing.
Tip #6: Brush With Them
If you want your child to brush their teeth, then you need to brush with them. This is something that a lot of parents do not do, but it is something that they should be doing.
If you want your child to get into the habit of brushing their teeth, then they need to see you doing it. You could also try asking them questions about what they are doing and if they are brushing their teeth properly.
This will show them that it is important for them to do this and they will want to do a good job so that you are happy with them.
